Shelly Taylor, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Louisiana Association for the Blind

Shelly Taylor
is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Louisiana Association for the Blind (LAB) in Shreveport, Louisiana. She has been with LAB since 1995, having served in several management and executive level positions before being selected by the Board of Directors to lead the organization in 2008.

She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association for Employment of People Who Are Blind (NAEPB) and serves as Chairman of the Ethics Committee, BSC Committee member and Commercial Business Committee. Shelly is a member of VisionServe Alliance and Rotary International. Locally, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Literacy Volunteers of Centenary College and Community Advisory Board of Junior League of Shreveport.

Shelly earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, Magna Cum Laude, from Louisiana State University and Master's in Business Administration from Centenary College. She was honored as a Nominee for the Chamber of Commerce Athena Award in 2010 and 2012.


Doug Young, Vice President of Operations of the Louisiana Association for the Blind

Doug Young
is Vice President of Operations at Louisiana Association for the Blind (LAB) in Shreveport, Louisiana. Doug has been with LAB since February 1995 having served as Production Supervisor for the Xerographic Department, Plant Manager for the Xerographic and Deck Covering facility, and Director of Operations for the same facility.

Doug is a retired veteran from the U.S. Air Force where he served 20 years as a Munitions Systems Specialist. While in the Air Force he completed 52 credit hours toward an Associate's Degree in Munitions Systems Technology. Upon retiring he attended Ayers Institute and received certification as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician. After being employed at LAB he received an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration at Bossier Parish Community College, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with concentration in Project Management from Colorado Technical University.


Tom Tyler, Vice President of Sales and Business Development of the Louisiana Association for the Blind

Tom Tyler
is Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Louisiana Association for the Blind (LAB) in Shreveport, Louisiana. Tom joined LAB in 2008 as Director of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Center and assumed the role of VP of Sales in June of 2010.

Prior to joining LAB, Tom spent twenty-seven years in paper and packaging sales and distribution. Tom served in the United States Air Force for four years after receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi State University.



Libby Murphy, Vice President of Strategic Development for Louisiana Association for the Blind

Libby Murphy
is Vice President of Strategic Development for Louisiana Association for the Blind (LAB) in Shreveport, Louisiana. Libby joined LAB in 2011 as Public Policy Director, and was appointed to her current position in October 2014. She currently serves as Chair of the Louisiana Rehabilitation Council, and is a member of the Governor's Advisory Council on Disability Affairs.

Previously, Libby served as Director of Development and Public Relations at LifeShare Blood Centers. She holds undergraduate degrees from Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana State University, and a Master of Science in Management from New England College.
